A notary public is a licensed public officer who administers oaths
and certifies documents. The notary public verifies your identification
via your license, passport, and other qualifying identification sources.
Once the notary public confirms your identification, a notary
public's signature and seal authenticates the signatures on many legal
documents. Their signature confirms that to the best of their knowledge,
you are the person signing your name on the document in question.
